Flagship engagement
Controls Readiness Audit
A structured review of payment, ledger, and customer-fund controls before a licensing milestone, investor diligence, or board attestation.
Who this engagement serves
Payment institutions, digital lending desks, remittance operators, and wallet providers that must show how customer funds, reconciliations, and exception handling actually work — not how a policy binder describes them.
Result you receive
A written readiness memorandum with rated control observations, a prioritized remediation map, and a board-ready summary suitable for supervisors or diligence rooms. We do not issue a regulatory license and we do not replace your statutory auditor.
Scope included
- Walkthroughs of cash, e-money, or loan origination flows with process owners
- Sample testing of reconciliations, segregation of duties, and exception logs
- Review of policy-to-practice gaps for customer asset protection and complaint handling
- Management interviews on escalation paths and incident follow-up
- A closing workshop to sequence remediations against your go-live or filing date
Scope excluded
Statutory financial statement audits, penetration testing, software development, and ongoing outsourced internal audit retainers unless separately agreed.
How we work
- Scoping call — clarify products, entities, and the decision the audit must support.
- Document request — ledgers extracts, reconciliation packs, org charts, and prior findings.
- Fieldwork — interviews and sample testing over an agreed window.
- Findings draft — factual accuracy check with your control owners.
- Final memorandum — ratings, evidence appendix, and remediation sequence.
Preparation
Nominate a single engagement lead, grant read-only access to relevant record stores, and block calendar time for operations, finance, and compliance interviewees. Incomplete reconciliations delay fieldwork more than missing slide decks.
Constraints
We work in English for deliverables; Mandarin interviews are available when a bilingual partner is assigned. Conflicts of interest are screened before kickoff. Work already started on a fixed-fee scope cannot be paused without a change order.
